South Rhodes power plant is a diesel engines plant, with a net capacity of 115MW at reference conditions, under execution in the South of Rhodes island in Greece close to Catavia village at a distance of about 85Km from the city of Rhodes. The onshore area of the plant for all fuel unloading facilities is located near the Prasonisi bay.
The owner of the plant is Public Power Corporation (PPC) of Greece.
The plant consists of seven (7) four-stroke identical Wartsila 18V46 diesel engine generating set units with all accessories and all specified equipment and buildings, as well as all onshore and offshore works for fuel unloading facilities and sea water handling facilities. The power
plant is designed for operation for HFO as main fuel and LFO as secondary.
It is a complete EPC turn-key contract under execution by TERNA that covers the design, engineering, documentation, manufacturing, factory testing, transportation to Site, erection, on site testing, training of the owner’s personnel, commissioning, putting in operation and warranty of the plant. Moreover, all the legislative permits required by the Greek state authorities for the erection, testing and operation of the power plant are included in TERNA’s scope of supply.
